- App Blocking: Temporarily restricting access to selected applications during prayer sessions using iOS Screen Time API or similar platform-specific technologies
- Prayer Tracking: Recording prayer sessions, durations, and maintaining prayer history
- Streak Monitoring: Tracking consecutive days of completed prayers and personal statistics
- Mood Logging: Recording mood and reflections after prayer sessions
- Notifications: Sending prayer reminders and motivational notifications
3. User Accounts and Authentication
3.1 Account Creation
To use Prayer Lock, you must create an account using one of the following authentication methods:
- Apple Sign In
- Google Sign In
3.2 Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
3.3 Account Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Prayer Lock. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
4. App Blocking Functionality
4.1 Screen Time API and Permissions
Prayer Lock uses platform-specific APIs (such as iOS Screen Time API with FamilyControls and ManagedSettings frameworks) to temporarily restrict access to selected applications during prayer sessions. By using this feature, you:
- Grant Prayer Lock the necessary permissions to manage app restrictions on your device
- Acknowledge that you can select which apps to block during prayer time
- Understand that blocking is temporary and automatically lifts when the prayer session ends or is cancelled
- Accept responsibility for any consequences resulting from blocking or unblocking apps
4.2 Limitations and Disclaimers
The app blocking feature:
- Depends on platform-specific APIs that may change or become unavailable
- May not work on all devices or operating system versions
- Cannot block emergency services, system apps, or certain protected applications
- Should not be relied upon for critical time management or productivity purposes
4.3 User Control
You maintain full control over:
- Which apps are blocked during prayer sessions
- The duration of prayer sessions
- Starting, pausing, or cancelling prayer sessions at any time
- Revoking Screen Time permissions through your device settings
5. Data Collection and Privacy
5.1 Information We Collect
Prayer Lock collects and stores the following information:
- Account Information: Email address, full name, and profile picture from your authentication provider
- Prayer Data: Prayer session times, durations, types, mood ratings, and personal notes
- Usage Statistics: Streak data, total prayers completed, and prayer history
- Preferences: Prayer schedule settings, notification preferences, selected apps for blocking, and language preferences
- Onboarding Information: Age range, spiritual state, relationship with God, and prayer frequency (optional)
5.2 Data Usage
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve the Service
- Send prayer reminders and notifications
- Track your prayer streaks and statistics
- Personalize your experience
- Analyze app usage and performance
5.3 Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a third-party backend service provider. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
5.4 Third-Party Services
Prayer Lock integrates with the following third-party services:
- Supabase: Database and authentication backend
- Apple Sign In: Authentication service
- Google Sign In: Authentication service
- Expo Services: App development and deployment platform
These services have their own privacy policies and terms of service that govern their use of your data.
6. User Responsibilities and Conduct
You agree to:
- Use Prayer Lock for lawful purposes only
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the App
- Not interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Not use the Service to harm, harass, or violate the rights of others
- Not share your account credentials with others
- Not attempt to bypass app blocking mechanisms through unauthorized means
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your use of the Service
7. Notifications and Communications
By using Prayer Lock, you consent to receive:

- Streak reminder notifications
- Motivational and encouragement messages

You can manage notification preferences within the App settings or your device settings at any time.
8. Intellectual Property Rights

Prayer Lock and all of its original content, features, functionality, design, trademarks, logos, and branding are owned by Prayer Lock and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
8.2 License to Use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Prayer Lock for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
8.3 Your Content
You retain ownership of any personal notes, reflections, or other content you create within the App. By using the Service, you grant us a license to store and process this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
9. Subscription and Payment Terms

9.1 Free and Premium Features
Prayer Lock may offer both free and premium subscription tiers with varying features and limitations.
9.2 Billing
Subscription fees are charged through your app store account (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) and are subject to the terms and policies of those platforms.

10. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
10.1 Service "As Is"
Prayer Lock is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- Guarantees of uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free service
- Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content
10.2 Not Professional Advice
Prayer Lock is a tool to support your personal prayer practice. It is not a substitute for:
- Professional mental health counseling or therapy
- Medical advice or treatment
- Spiritual or religious guidance from qualified clergy or advisors
10.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prayer Lock and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to or use of our servers
- Interruption or cessation of the Service
- Bugs, viruses, or harmful code transmitted through the Service
- Errors or omissions in content
- Any consequences resulting from app blocking functionality, including missed notifications, calls, or messages
10.4 Maximum Liability
In no event shall our total liability to you for all damages exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months prior to the event giving rise to the liability, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Prayer Lock and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Deleting your account through the App settings
- Uninstalling the App from your device

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, for:

- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Extended periods of inactivity
